Greetings from the Boardroom
Thank you to all our shareholders and Board members who attended our recent AGM on Wednesday 6 May. A bit of an experiment for the resort team as we introduced the online format which seemed to be well received. We have had some positive feedback which will help us with AGM online meetings in the future. If you would like to watch the replay it is available on our website here.

The Board farewelled long time board member John (and Jan) Wilson and welcomed back existing Board member Marjorie (Don) Symonds along with new Board member David (Susie) Wills. Our Executive Director Rick Martin (Jill) will continue to assist the Board and resort through to the next AGM.
The above, along with current elected Board members Wayne Keats (Charmaine), Clinton Green (Robyn), Don Boddie, John Middleton (Eileen) spent the AGM week on site at the resort. The Board team worked through several face-to-face meetings over this week and were there in-person for the AGM meeting on the Wednesday evening. The week spent at the resort gave everyone a chance to spend some time having a look at all aspects of the actual property and planning business and marketing ideas going forward.
Karryn and her team have the resort looking fabulous and on-going improvements are certainly receiving great feedback from our shareholders.
There have been a few staff changes at the resort and we did note some of those in the AGM Board report, again our thanks go to long time staff members Candice and Stephen who have recently left us, Karryn is underway with looking for new candidates for these roles and this also gives her the time to look at how we staff and manage the different roles at the Resort.
Over the next few weeks, you will receive one or two short surveys from Lake Edge. Please take the time to respond to the surveys as your feedback is very helpful to the Board with our ongoing decisions around resort matters.
Finally, please remember all the board members are elected by you the shareholders. Board members give their time freely and welcome your feedback and ideas, all contact details for board members are on the Lake Edge website.
Regards,
Wayne Keats
Chairperson of the Lake Edge Resort Board
Resort Roundup

We have enjoyed many bluebird days this autumn which is a real treat after what felt like a short summer!
There are several weeks available over the next few months (the upcoming long weekend included!) so if you are planning on a winter getaway, please get in touch with the office!
We also have rentals available during this time so if you require more than one apartment for family and friends to gather then we would love to help you find a date!
Please note with the new staffing changes any booking requests will be attended to during office hours, Monday through Friday. Some of you have already met Ella, a valued member of our housekeeping team, who is currently learning the ropes around the different resort departments from the office to the gardens! Ella will be available onsite during Saturday morning to help you with any apartment queries, however we request you direct all booking enquires to the office during the weekdays, Monday-Friday. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Apartment One ensuite refurbishment is well underway this week, and Apartment Five is next on the list! Apartments Three and Nine remain with the bath in the ensuite bathrooms. It’s great to hear the positive comments on the new look bathrooms and we will continue to upgrade soft furnishings during the year to ensure we keep the resort at a high standard.
We have been updating and adding a few extra comforts to the apartment for your stay. Please take care of the newly sharpened knives and any new items placed in the kitchen for your use during your stay with us. We request that you please double-check on departure that you do not take any of the Lake Edge items home with you.
The pool heating has now been switched off for the winter months (May and June) and will be heated back up in time for the start of the July school holidays. This will be a huge saving to the resort power bill as it is our largest expense, alongside the underfloor heating (which will remain on during winter).
We have discounts available for the local hot pools at either De Bretts or Wairakei Terraces so please come and see us at the office for more details.
We are currently researching and exploring options to upgrade the surface of the pool and will endeavour to complete an upgrade during the winter months of 2027.
For health and safety slip bolts were installed on the doors to the entrance of the balconies. Please note these bolts are best used for overnight security only. We recommend you use the key provided to lock/unlock the ranch slider door but do not slide the security bolt lock shut during the day when you are away from your apartment. The ranch slider door is the only other entrance to your apartment should the fob fail to open your apartment front door.
Don’t forget if you haven’t used your owner's week, please get in touch with us to secure a date for 2026. The calendars are also currently open up to April 2027 for bookings next year, once you have paid the advance deposit for the 2027 levy of $900.
We look forward to hosting you soon!
Karryn and the Lake Edge Team
